NPGG

Non-Profit Game Guild

Games are culture.

NPGG is a non-profit game developer and publisher founded on a simple belief: when games are treated first as financial instruments, something essential is lost.

We exist to test a different hypothesis: That games flourish when artistic merit, cultural value, and genuine entertainment come before profit maximization.

Our mission

NPGG recognizes games as a cultural medium, on par with film, literature, and music. We support games that are bold, personal, experimental, joyful, strange, quiet, loud, and human, without pressure to optimize for engagement metrics, growth curves, or investor returns.

Too much cultural work is built around a single model of attention, time, and productivity. We’re interested in what gets lost.

We explicitly value neurodivergent perspectives. Games have long been shaped by people who experience time, attention, sleep, focus, and social norms differently; yet the industry often punishes those differences.

This includes people living with Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder, ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence. We believe cultural work should be built to reflect human variation, not demand conformity to narrow norms.

Every dollar we earn goes directly back into making more games.

What we make

How it works

For creators

NPGG exists to support developers whose lives or working styles don’t fit industry norms. We do not equate professionalism with constant availability, crunch, or fixed schedules.

If you’re making something personal, risky, unusual, or uninterested in chasing trends, we want to hear from you.

The experiment

NPGG is an ongoing experiment in alternative game development. We don’t claim to have all the answers but do believe the question matters.

What could games be, if money stopped being the loudest voice in the room?
